Type and color

Fresco uses a self-hosted, highly legible sans family with a warm paper palette, muted aubergine accents, and deep moss surfaces. Fluid type and spacing are controlled from the global design system.

Technology

The theme is built with Astro, TypeScript, content collections, and Tailwind CSS. Pages render to static HTML. JavaScript is limited to progressive form feedback and no framework runtime is shipped.

Editorial model

Stories, contributors, and conversations are validated collections with local images and consistent metadata. Categories generate crawlable static archives, while article pages include canonical links, social metadata, and structured data.

All theme-controlled imagery passes through Astro’s image pipeline with responsive source sets, dimensions, descriptive alternative text, and intentional loading behavior.
